The Creed of the DELCO Baseball League is the Connie Mack Sportsmanship Creed: “I promise to play the game to the best of my ability at all times. I will always play to win, but if I lose, I will never look for excuses which would detract from my opponent’s win. I will always abide by the rules of the game on the diamond as well as in the daily life. I will never gloat in victory nor pity myself in defeat. I will judge a teammate as an individual and never on the basis of his race or religion.”

Blue Sox Outfielder Sammy Burman shown here with Catholic U Baseball Coach Ross Natoli, was presented with his 2025 D3 All Region Team Award. Sammy helped Lead Catholic University to A Landmark Championship in 2025 and a birth into the NCAA regionals for the second year in a row.

The Upper Darby Blue Sox are a summer baseball team based in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, competing in the Delco Semi-Pro League. The Delco League has a rich history, dating back to the early 20th century. The Blue Sox have a strong reputation for developing talented players and competing at a high level. David Jerdon has been the Manager of The UD Blue Sox Baseball since 1994.
In 1994, Harriett Jerdon realized there were no adult leagues in Upper Darby for players to continue playing after college. With her determination and passion for the game, the Upper Darby Blue Sox became a franchise. She continued to manage the team until her passing in 2008.
Over the 32 years that the Blue Sox have been in the Delco League, they have appeared in the playoffs 26 times and have competed in 5 Championship Series, winning the Charlie Kress Trophy in 3 of those appearances, in 2021, 2024 and 2025.
We’re pumped to officially launch Ball Out Baseball Camp 2025 — and we’re even more excited to introduce the coaching duo behind it: Coach Ben Burman and Coach Sammy Burman!
Between us, we bring years of playing and coaching experience, a serious passion for the game, and a mission to help your ballplayer level up this summer — on and off the field. PLEASE DM me for more information.
