
Bluesox built a 7-run lead in the third inning and then held off Knights’s charge for a 9-8 victory on Tuesday. Knights closed the gap by scoring on an error, a single, a single, a single, a double, a single, and a single.
Bluesox collected nine hits and Knights had nine in the high-scoring affair.
Knights opened the scoring in the first after one run scored on another play.
Bluesox flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to right field by Alex Burman that drove in two.
Bluesox added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Wright singled to left field, and Chase Ecker hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Quinten Perilli earned the win for Bluesox. The hurler allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out seven and walking two. Justin Hickman took the loss for Knights. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing eight runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out four and walking three. Jack Bateman and Chase Ecker each appeared in relief for Bluesox.
Bluesox tallied nine hits in the game. Joey Suppa, Christian Strickland, Brendan Till, Josh Hankins, Alex Burman, John Dunion, Chase Ecker, Wright, and Suppa each collected one hit for Bluesox.
