UD BLUESOX

Bluesox were victorious against Narberth Outsiders 8-4 on Thursday at 80 Windsor Ave, Narberth, PA 19072.

Bluesox got on the board in the top of the third inning after Chase Ecker grounded into a fielder’s choice, Sammy Burman singled down the right field line, and Sam Wright lined out, each scoring one run.

Narberth Outsiders tied the game up in the bottom of the third thanks to two singles. Narberth Outsiders tied the game at three on a single by Gerard Sweeney.

Bluesox captured the lead, 7-3, in the top of the fourth when John Dunion singled, scoring two runs, Gus Wright drew a walk, scoring one run, and a passed ball scored one run.

Chase Ecker earned the win for Bluesox. The starter gave up seven hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three. Isaiah Negron took the loss for Narberth Outsiders. The righty went three and one-third innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking four. Sam Wright appeared in relief for Bluesox.

John Dunion, Bluesox’s number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Sammy Burman, John Dunion, and Chase Ecker each drove in one run for Bluesox. Jack Bateman paced Bluesox with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Bluesox were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Peter Bozzone had the most chances in the field with six.

Jack Stead led Narberth Outsiders with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Garrett Friend and Robby Grasso each collected two hits for Narberth Outsiders.
