UD BLUESOX

A walk-off left Bluesox on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Black Sox on Monday. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when Ryan McGhee singled, scoring one run.

Black Sox rallied for the victory despite trailing 4-0 in the third.

Bluesox were the first to get on the board in the first when Christian Strickland was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

A walk by Jake Virbitsky, and a double by Ant Kelly helped Bluesox extend their early lead in the third.

Jimmy Boyle grounded out, which helped Black Sox tie the game at four in the bottom of the fifth.

Aidan Kalligonis earned the win for Black Sox. The pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Padraig MacManus took the loss for Bluesox. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering one run on two hits, striking out two and walking three. Kevin King stepped on the bump first for Bluesox. The righty gave up three hits and three runs (two earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Jimmy Boyle started the game for Black Sox. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Ant Kelly went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Dan Gavlick led Bluesox with two hits in four at bats. Adam Fine stole two bases.

Ryan McGhee went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Black Sox had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Bobby Doherty and Lucien Burger led the team with two free passes each.
