UD BLUESOX

Bluesox defeated Wayne Baseball 11-1 on Monday thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning. Gus Wright singled, scoring one run, Jake Virbitsky singled, scoring one run, Christian Strickland hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Joey Suppa doubled, scoring one run, and Kevin McGovern tripled, scoring two runs.

Bluesox got on the board in the top of the first inning after Jake Virbitsky singled to center field, and Christian Strickland hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Bluesox added two runs in the second after Adam Fine singled to center field.

Quinten Perilli earned the win for Bluesox. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over six innings, striking out five and walking two. Matt Hewitt took the loss for Wayne Baseball. The starter went three innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out five and walking one.

Bluesox amassed 13 hits in the game. Jake Virbitsky led Bluesox with three hits in four at bats. Christian Strickland, Adam Fine, Kevin McGovern, and Jake Virbitsky each drove in two runs for Bluesox. Ant Kelly collected two hits for Bluesox in four at bats. Adam Fine stole three bases.

Danny Braslow led Wayne Baseball with one run batted in. Eliot Dix, Matt Kane, and Steven Wells each collected one hit for Wayne Baseball. Wayne Baseball turned one double play in the game.
