UD BLUESOX

Bluesox rallied to defeat Drexel Hill Ducks 6-5 on Friday. Bluesox trailed by as many as four runs during the game.

Bluesox didn’t take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at five in the top of the seventh when Jack Bateman singled, scoring one run.

Drexel Hill Ducks were the first to get on the board in the first when Austin Cannon singled, scoring two runs.

Drexel Hill Ducks added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Harry Carr singled down the right field line, and Jaxon Kehoe grounded out, each scoring one run.

Bluesox tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a single by Jack Bateman, and a fielder’s choice by Gus Wright.

Quinten Perilli pitched four innings in relief for Bluesox. The pitcher surrendered four hits and one run while, striking out seven and walking one. Kevin King started the game for Bluesox. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out one and walking two. Jaxon Kehoe stepped on the hill first for Drexel Hill Ducks. The starting pitcher surrendered nine hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking one.

Bluesox amassed 11 hits in the game. Jason Hankins and Brendan Till were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Bluesox while hitting back-to-back. Jack Bateman, the number eight hitter for Bluesox, led the way with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Bluesox stole five bases in the game. Bluesox turned one double play in the game. Bluesox were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Peter Bozzone had the most chances in the field with eight.

Drexel Hill Ducks accumulated nine hits in the game. Austin Cannon provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Drexel Hill Ducks with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Trey Tiffan led Drexel Hill Ducks with three hits in four at bats. Irv Fisher and Harry Carr each collected multiple hits for Drexel Hill Ducks. Irv Fisher and Harry Carr each stole multiple bases for Drexel Hill Ducks. Drexel Hill Ducks ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game. Drexel Hill Ducks turned one double play in the game.
