UD BLUESOX

Kevin McGovern was dominant on the hill, as the pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in Bluesox’s 6-2 victory over Knights on Friday. Kevin McGovern gave up four hits and one run over five and two-thirds innings while walking one.

Bluesox opened the scoring in the first after Christian Strickland doubled, scoring one run.

Bluesox added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Joey Suppa homered to left field, and Jake Virbitsky walked, each scoring one run.

Aidan Chermol took the loss for Knights. The hurler went five innings, surrendering four runs on five hits, striking out five and walking four. Jack Bateman collected the save.

Ant Kelly provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Bluesox with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Ant Kelly and Jake Virbitsky each collected two hits for Bluesox. Dave McClaine paced Bluesox with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game.

Troy Neff provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Knights with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day.
