UD BLUESOX

Both teams were strong on the hill on Saturday, but Bluesox defeated Narberth Outsiders 2-1. Colby Mcneely started the game for Bluesox and recorded one out.

Bluesox didn’t take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the sixth when Brian Heck induced Dylan Thompson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Narberth Outsiders opened the scoring in the second after #64 hit into a double play, but one run scored.

Christian Strickland singled down the left field line, which helped Bluesox tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.

Colby Mcneely led things off on the mound for Bluesox. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking none. Brian Heck stepped on the bump first for Narberth Outsiders. The starter gave up five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five and walking two. Ant Kelly threw three innings of shutout ball for Bluesox in relief. The pitcher gave up one hit, striking out two and walking four.

Andrew Lube-solic, Dylan Thompson, Christian Strickland, Gus Wright, and Danny Meakim each collected one hit for Bluesox. Dylan Thompson and Christian Strickland were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Bluesox. Bluesox turned two double plays in the game.

Nick Bumbera, Chase Rantanen, and #64 each collected one hit for Narberth Outsiders. Narberth Outsiders had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 12 walks for the game. Tommy Belman, Jack Stead, and Brendan O’Gara led the team with two bases on balls each. Narberth Outsiders turned one double play in the game.
