UD BLUESOX

Bluesox were victorious against Knights 6-3 on Sunday.

Bluesox opened the scoring in the first after Christian Strickland doubled, scoring two runs.

Brandon Grygo singled down the right field line following a 7-pitch at-bat, which helped Knights tie the game at two in the top of the second.

Bluesox took the lead, 6-2, in the bottom of the second thanks to singles by Joey Suppa, Sammy Burman, Alex Burman, and Christian Strickland.

Quinten Perilli stepped on the bump first for Bluesox. The hurler allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. Gavin Brown began the game for Knights. The pitcher surrendered 11 hits and six runs over six innings, striking out two and walking one. Kevin King tossed three innings of no-run ball for Bluesox in relief. The hurler surrendered two hits, striking out three and walking none.

Bluesox amassed 11 hits in the game. Joey Suppa and Christian Strickland each collected two hits for Bluesox. Christian Strickland went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Bluesox turned two double plays in the game. Bluesox were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Christian Strickland had the most chances in the field with 12.

Brandon Grygo provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Knights with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Number nine hitter, Mac Keating, showed the depth of Knights’s lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Brandon Grygo stole two bases. Knights turned one double play in the game.
