UD BLUESOX

Bluesox defeated Blue Jays 8-2 on Saturday at 1701 Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064 thanks in part to five runs in the first inning. Sammy Burman homered to center field, scoring three runs, Sam Wright tripled, scoring one run, and John Dunion singled, scoring one run.

Bluesox added one run in the third after Sam Wright singled to center field following a 7-pitch at-bat.

Blue Jays scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by Kirk.

Kevin King began the game for Bluesox. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking three. Pendrick began the game for Blue Jays. The starting pitcher gave up 11 hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.

Bluesox tallied 13 hits in the game. Sammy Burman provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Bluesox with three runs batted in. The center fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Sam Wright went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Bluesox in hits. Adam Fine and Brendan Till each collected multiple hits for Bluesox. Adam Fine stole two bases. Bluesox ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game. Bluesox were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Sammy Burman had the most chances in the field with five.

Kirk, Struhecker, Bennett, Dintz, and Person each collected one hit for Blue Jays. Kirk led Blue Jays with one run batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Blue Jays turned two double plays in the game. Blue Jays were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kirk had the most chances in the field with six.

Bluesox will travel to Chester for their next game on Wednesday.
