Thorpe opened the game for Bluesox. The hurler gave up two hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking four. Pat Ahearn led things off on the hill for Springfield Blue Jays. The pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Ben Mutz threw two innings of zero-run ball for Bluesox in relief. The pitcher allowed one hit, striking out one and walking one.
Burman and Fine were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Bluesox. Bluesox were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Christian Strickland had the most chances in the field with seven.
Owen Yoder, Shoemaker, and Nolan Carroll each collected one hit for Springfield Blue Jays. Shoemaker led Springfield Blue Jays with one run batted in. Shoemaker went 1-for-2 on the day. Springfield Blue Jays were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jason Bennett made the most plays with seven.
Bluesox will travel to Knights for their next game on Tuesday.
